Pinworms in Children

Pinworms are small intestinal worms that can infect children. The most common symptom is itching around the anus, especially at night.

Enterobius vermicularis causes pinworm infection. The worms spread when microscopic eggs move from contaminated hands, clothing, bedding or surfaces into the mouth.
